Arquiteto de formação e paisagista por vocação, Alex Hanazaki é antes de tudo um esteta. A infância e a juventude em Presidente Prudente lhe deram as raízes necessárias para construir projetos com o pé na terra, impregnados de referências emocionais, mas é sua alma cosmopolita que os transforma em cenários surpreendentes. Alex extrai da natureza formas, cores e texturas que pelas suas mãos se traduzem em paisagem moderna. Jardins particulares de puro luxo. A frente de um escritório em São Paulo afinado com seu perfeccionismo, Hanazaki é considerado um dos grandes nomes do paisagismo moderno no Brasil. Para ele, paisagismo também é qualidade de vida. Mas, para além disso, o desafio a cada projeto é criar jardins como obras de arte.
Alex Hanazaki acabou de ganhar o prêmio mais importante de paisagismo da ASLA (American Society of Landscape Archtecture). O profissional é o primeiro e único brasileiro a receber essa premiação que reconhece um dos seus projetos como o mais bonito do mundo na categoria residencial. Jardins como o High Line, de Nova York, e o Hide Park, de Londres, também receberão o prêmio na categoria espaços públicos. O arquiteto é o único representante na área de paisagismo que vem se destacando internacionalmente e no Brasil depois de Burle Marx.
Os brasileiros não tem nenhum outro representante desse porte diferentemente da arquitetura.
Hanazaki também assinará um jardim permanente em Berlim, que inaugura em 2017, mas já está sendo planejado e começará a ser executado a partir de janeiro de 2015. A ideia desse projeto é revitalizar um bairro degradado da cidade. Para isso, 8 designers, de diferentes partes do mundo foram escolhidos para criar áreas verdes e de lazer para a comunidade.
