Nepal é um pequeno país localizado entre a China e a Índia, com uma população de aproximadamente trinta milhões de habitantes. Sua capital é a belíssima Kathmandu, onde encontramos o Monte Everest, o ponto mais alto da terra.
Um país de contrastes, lembrando que foi devastado por um terremoto em 2015, quando mais de meio milhão de residências foram destruídas.
A principal atração de Kathmandu e seus 300.000 habitantes é o Templo Swayambhunath, com mais de 2.000 anos. Um local sagrado para os Nepali para fazerem suas orações, e também um dos melhores locais para ver toda a cidade. A estrutura principal é feita de tijolos e terra, e nos quatro lados da base vemos os olhos de Buda. Toda esta área é cercada de templos e estupas.
O Nepal é um país muito espiritualizado, assim como a Índia, falando de crenças e não de religião. Por isso as visitas são quase todas feitas a templos, estupas e locais de oração.
Um outro templo muito conhecido e visitado é o Kasthamandap, que inclusive é de onde vem o nome de Kathmandu. Outras atrações: Praça Durbar e seu conjunto de templos dominados pelo Palácio de Hanuman Dhoka); a cidade de Patan e suas artes plásticas; o Templo de Krishna; o Templo Hiranya Varna Mahavihara; e o Templo Mahabodhi.
Espere encontrar no Nepal um povo acolhedor e feliz. Muitos comparam o Nepal à Índia, que é menor e menos populosa. Artesanato local, incensos, imagens de deuses Nepali (incluído Buda) são os souvenirs mais procurados por quem visita o país.

A country of contrasts, it was devastated by an earthquake in 2015, when more than half a million homes were destroyed.
The main attraction for Kathmandu and its 300,000 inhabitants is the Swayambhunath Temple, which is over 2,000 years old. A sacred place for the Nepali to say their prayers, it is also one of the best places to see the whole city. The main structure is made of bricks and earth, and on the four sides of the base we see the eyes of Buddha. The whole area is surrounded by temples and stupas.
Nepal is a very spiritual country, just like India, when it comes to beliefs rather than religion. That’s why most of the visits are to temples, stupas and places of prayer.
Another well-known and visited temple is Kasthamandap, which is also where Kathmandu gets its name. Other attractions: Durbar Square and its cluster of temples dominated by the Hanuman Dhoka Palace; the city of Patan and its fine arts; the Krishna Temple; the Hiranya Varna Mahavihara Temple; and the Mahabodhi Temple.
