Exclusive Exhibition: Eames Plywood Sculptures at Saint Laurent Rive Droite

Discover Charles and Ray Eames’ Artworks in the Exclusive Collaboration with Eames Office

Exclusive Exhibition: Eames Plywood Sculptures at Saint Laurent Rive Droite
Saint Laurent Rive Droite Los Angeles and Anthony Vaccarello are pleased to present an exclusive exhibition in collaboration with the Eames Office, featuring seven limited-edition Plywood Sculptures by Charles and Ray Eames.

For the first time, the spectacular limited-edition Plywood Sculpture is on public display in Los Angeles, the city where it was first created by the Eameses in 1943. An abstract, three-feet tall organic shape, the molded Plywood Sculpture is not only a beautiful work of contemporary art but also marks a technological breakthrough and important milestone in 20th-century design.

Charles and Ray Eames produced two of the Plywood Sculptures from one same wood and metal production tool. Both sculptures still exist today and are part of the Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity. In 2021, the Eames Office researched and re-edited the Plywood Sculpture in a limited edition of twelve.

Happening at the same time as the Palm Springs Modernism Week, the exhibition at the Saint Laurent Rive Droite store in Los Angeles will feature seven numbered Plywood Sculptures, as well as related artwork by Charles and Ray Eames such as drawings, photos, and the film Blacktop. A printed exhibition catalog will also be available. Featured sculptures will be available for sale upon request.

About Eames Office
Charles (1907–1978) and Ray (1912–1988) Eames founded their Los Angeles-based design practice, Eames Office, in 1941. Through their work and its ongoing impact, the Eames Office reconceived the concept of a design studio in terms of philosophy, work ethic, and process.

To carry out its mission, the Eames Office works closely with authorized manufacturers to bring original Eames designs to market, introducing their work to new generations through educational programs, curated exhibitions, and collaborations.

To all those ends, the Eames Office extends Charles and Ray’s overall legacy through its ongoing support of the Eames Foundation.
